MicDrop is a powerful, next-generation plugin that uses artificial intelligence to deliver complex, real-time audio transformations within your DAW. To ensure the best performance, we recommend the following:
- Create and Commit: Instantiate MicDrop, craft your desired sound, then bounce it in place and save your session. Repeat this process as many times as needed (e.g., when building a background vocal stack).
- Optimize Your System: To prevent performance issues, minimize other active programs while using MicDrop, including system-level assistants like Siri or other Apple Intelligence services. Because MicDrop fully leverages CPU, GPU, and neural processing hardware on bothMac and PC, reducing background tasks helps ensure smooth operation.
- Consider Resource Limits: Due to the intensive processing demands, most computers can only run one or two instances of MicDrop simultaneously. Keep this in mind when planning your work flow and system requirements.
- Platform Compatibility: While MicDrop supports Mac and standard PC architectures,Windows ARM computers are not supported yet—even as more of these devices are becoming available. If you’re not sure if your system meets the requirements, please download our free demo to test compatibility
Absolutely. As long as you own the input material, you are free to use any of our MicDrop models on commercial release recordings. Please tag us on socials when you do!
Our team is on Discord, open a support ticket there and we will do our best to assist you.
We train all our models from scratch using a proprietary blend of many voices to create a single new hybrid singer. Our models use public domain, friends & family.
Avoid using reverb, delay, chorus, etc. The drier the vocal input the better the output.
Make sure to set your gate threshold to only allow through words and singing, not room tone or background noise. You can absolutely pre-tune your vocals if you want. That said, MicDrop has amazing auto-correlation and even the ability to “play” a spoken vocal using a midi keyboard.
Please see our instructional videos here for more information on using MicDrop. Don’t forget to get creative! You can run drums and other monophonic instruments through MicDrop for everything from beatboxing to a trumpet turned into a jazz scat vocal! Just remember that for input material, the dryer the better.
